The official Lay-Z-Spa® Descaler removes calcium deposits to improve the efficiency and prolong the lifespan of the heater pump.
Regularly descaling a Lay-Z-Spa pump will improve the flow of water and general efficiency by removing limescale/calcium deposits from the heater, circulation pump and flow sensor. Frequent descaling is highly recommended for areas of the UK with medium or hard water.
Compatible with all Lay-Z-Spa pumps, including AirJet™, HydroJet™, HydroJet Pro™ and UltraFit™, the descaling tool is designed to create a short, closed water circuit inside the pump for the circulation of specific descaling chemicals (not included).
How to use the Lay-Z-Spa® Descaler:
- Disconnect the pump from the main hot tub (except UltraFit™ hot tubs).
- Connect the descaler to the water in and out pipes following the instructions with the correct adaptors.
- Fill up to the minimum line with your preferred descaling product. We recommend either a 50/50 mix of water and white vinegar or Approx 200ml of ClearWater Scale & Stain Controller diluted in water.
- Screw on the lid to create a safe and closed water circuit.
- Option 1: Do not activate the filter or heat and leave the descaling solution for a minimum of 3 hours.
- Option 2: Activate the filter (but not the heat) and run for at least 30 minutes
- Option 3: Set temperature to 30°C, activate the heater and run for at least 30 minutes (for this option, do not screw the lid on the descaler)
- Unscrew the drain valve on the descaler to empty the liquid and detach the descaler.
- Flush clean water through the pump for 2 minutes using a hose.
