Setting up a berg champion inground trampoline can feel daunting, but it’s surprisingly simple once you have everything prepared and you know what you’re doing. Here’s a quick checklist for you to use alongside your manual to ensure you get your inground trampoline set up efficiently without any frustrations.
Setting Up a Berg Champion Inground
Step 1. Use the measure to plot out a circular space for the inground trampoline. Here is where you’ll dig your trench. You’ll need the centre section to be the deepest and this will be according to the instructions on your particular trampoline as this varies. Ensure that the trench is at least 75cm in the centre and that it equally deep in the circle.
Step 2. Lay out your parts and have them next to your assembly area so you’re not searching for things.
Step 3. Put on safety gloves. Assembly is designed to be safe but as you know, it’s easy to hurt yourself when putting together anything so safety first. Good rubber gripped gloves will also make handling much easier.
Step 3. Take the steel frame sections labelled ‘A’ and ‘B’ and lay them in a circular pattern like ‘A-B-A-B’. Once in place, connect them together manually with the feet pointing down. You should be left with a frame that is standing on the grass.
Step 4. Take the leg extenders and connect them to the frame. Next, lay out the jumping mat so that the hooks are in line with the frame holes. Included with the Berg setup equipment is a handy metal hook for attaching springs safely. Take your springs and start connecting the red colour-coded jumping mat hoops from the jumping mat to the frame. The hooks on either side of the spring should be pointing down towards the ground. Each hole on the frame should support two springs. You should now have four equidistant points of your mat attached to your frame.
Step 5. Continue adding springs. As you add them, install them opposite one another to ensure you spread the jumping surface evenly.
Step 6. With all springs installed, add the protecting padding and secure using the straps. You’re now ready to secure the trampoline over the ditch. Place it over the ditch and use a rubber mallet to secure both the support legs and the safety mat in place in the ground.
